How one rescue dog inspired the world’s toughest plush toys 🐾
It all started in Paris — where else? 🇫🇷
Apache is a four-year-old American Staff with a heart as big as his bite strength.
He was rescued during lockdown by Celia and Benjamin, two freshly graduated textile and ballistic engineers who thought adopting a dog would make their lives a little more joyful.
(It did. And a lot messier.)
A tough start and a tougher chew.
Apache hadn’t had an easy start. He came from an illegal breeding facility, where dogs were kept in cages and never really got to be dogs.
When he finally discovered freedom, he went all in playing, running, and enthusiastically testing the limits of every toy he could get his paws on.
The “Aha” Moment
Celia and Benjamin wanted to spoil him, so they tried everything: ropes, plastic, plush, even the so-called “indestructible” toys. None survived.
Then one day, in their workshop, Celia handed Apache a scrap of ballistic fabric, the kind used in bulletproof vests. He tugged, chewed, growled... and for the first time, the toy survived.
That fabric was Dyneema®️, the strongest fiber on Earth. CE-certified, non-toxic, and slash-proof.
Strong enough to stop a knife. Soft enough for a wagging tail.
From a Workshop to the World
That was the moment Cheeky was born.
Celia’s sister Alice joined the adventure, and together they launched a crowdfunding campaign.
Thousands of dog parents from around the world wanted one. Soon, Cheeky toys were being shipped to over 25 countries, and stories poured in of dogs who finally met their match.
Because to us, dogs aren’t just pets. They’re family ❤️
And family deserves toys that are strong, safe, and made with love.
Strong. Safe. Soft.
Made with love, and the strongest fiber on Earth.
